It’s hard to talk about fall without discussing one of our favorite topics — fashion. Lucky for us (and you), jeans are a timeless fall staple. From bootcut to skinny, denim stays in style — but a few washes are in the spotlight this year. We’re here to tell you why, where to get them and how to wear them.
Light wash denim is having a major moment. This trend has been snowballing for a couple of seasons now in the form of monochromatic outfits (still chic) and is giving way to a new version: Clean, crisp whites and lights. Pair your light wash jeans with white, ivory, cream and grey for a classic, fashion-forward look. Don’t forget your layers! Keep piling them on to increase warmth as temperatures drop.
Deep indigo is hitting the scene as a slightly deeper take on a beautiful, true blue. Following the trend of cozy comfort, this wash usually appears with a vintage, faded color effect throughout, which makes them look worn and reliable. Because of its cozy look, the deep indigo wash pairs well with your fall sweaters, jackets, cardigans, coats, hats, scarves — basically lots of layers, making it a perfect wash to transition for (eek!) winter. The wash adds depth to your outfit when it’s paired with your warm fall reds and oranges; The deep blue really makes the colors pop.
This season’s dark wash denim is particularly clean. No whiskering, no fade. It’s sleek and solid saturation makes it a tasteful, dressy choice for all occasions. The dark denim wash also pairs great with warm fall colors, as it creates an interesting contrast, but it’s also the best choice for pairing with your blazer and ankle booties for a casual work day or a night out with the girls (or both!).
Oh, how we love our black denim. We never want to part with it, especially when it starts to get a little chilly outside. Black denim always gives you a leg up, even when it’s just paired with your favorite white tee. This season, keep it dressed up and streamlined with simple clothing and statement accessories. With its super slimming and very chic silhouette, you’ll make black your go-to denim in no time. (That is, if you haven’t already!)
